I already discovered my love to Africa when I was a young schoolgirl, although my idea of this place was very vague. All began, after I had seen a film about Lambarene. I started reading about Africa what ever I could get and was dreaming of a life on this continent...
A few years after I had finished school and vocational training, I was on my way to Africa.

Africa – what a different world! However, when I finally arrived in Nigeria/West Africa, I immediately felt at home. My husband who at that time already lived in Nigeria for a long time introduced me to Dr. Madecki in Abeokuta. Soon we became very good friends and I got to know all about his Sacred Heart Hospital. 
 
Since my husband travelled very much for professional reasons and I often accompanied him, I used the opportunity to see many other African countries apart from Nigeria. Gabon was one of our destinations too, but unfortunately the chance to make a visit in Lambarene did not come about.

After I spent many years in Africa, I still feel attached to this continent and its people in a special way. Therefore I would like to draw your attention on the Dr. Oswald Madecki Medical Scholarship and the donation campaign for the benefit of young Nigerian students.
